Although Antique Furniture was considered an expensive luxury – today these wellmade and beautiful furnishings are less expensive than their modern equivalents. In our disposable society, many people buy household necessities that will only last a fraction of the time that antiques do. Maybe this is due to style changes, or the misbelief that modern furniture is less expensive I do not know, but in todays market quality antiques will last for generations and cost less than those currently mass produced. Also, antiques can be sold for the original price paid whereas mass produced furniture gets discarded.

Below are some items with description and approximate prices – astonishingly, antiques furnishings cost much less than they did 20 years ago – bucking the inflationary trend of most other things for sale.
